Pinta Sud | ASU organizes the third and final edition of Art Week in Asunción, Paraguay, from August 5 to 11, 2024, with contemporary art and cultural activations throughout the city in collaboration with public and private agents. This program invites you to discover the uniqueness of Asuncion´s art scene and to delve into its invigorating cultural offerings.

 

Since 2022, the Pinta Sud initiative brings cultural programs in cities across Latin America to celebrate their growing artistic scenes. Its mission is to strengthen cultural networks between the international art world and the local scene, resulting in economic and educational opportunities for Latin American art.

A week away from its official opening, the 60th edition of the Venice Biennale has generated press urbi et orbi. While some articles celebrated the irruption of the Global South in the Arsenale and the Giardini, others -truly devastating- reported on the disturbance and discomfort that the proposal of Adriano Pedrosa -the first Latin American to cure La Biennale in more than a century of existence- has awakened in the Western art system.
